A 25-year-old West Peoria woman has been identified as the victim in Tuesday night’s fatal car crash on Sterling Avenue.

Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood on Wednesday said Katherine King died instantly from blunt force trauma injuries suffered in the multiple vehicle collision near Gilbert. Harwood said required toxicology tests are pending.

Four other people were hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries. The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Peoria Police Traffic Unit.

The crash occurred around 8:40 p.m., and the 2800 block of North Sterling between Gilbert and Forest Hill remained closed until after 4 a.m. Wednesday.
