The Peoria City Council approved an administrative policy that provides eight hours of normal wages for workers appointed to serve as an election judge for any primary, general, consolidated or special election.

The officials overseeing elections in Peoria and Tazewell counties say they haven’t changed any plans for the November midterm election following a U.S. Supreme Court decision tied to mail-in ballots.

A good election, Jessily Joseph will tell you, is a boring one. "You don't want to be noteworthy," said Joseph, who was appointed executive director of the Peoria County Election Commission on May 21.

The Peoria County Election Commission has a new leader ahead of the November general election. Jessily Joseph was appointed executive director Thursday during a special meeting of the PCEC Board.
