Rauner Keeps Quiet About His Plans for Gun Dealer Licensing Bill

Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner is not saying whether he plans to sign a bill that requires gun dealers to be licensed by the state.

Rauner says he’s been crystal clear on where he stands on gun control legislation, though he has not shown his cards for what he plans to do specifically with the gun dealer licensing bill. He could either sign it into law, or veto it.

Rauner did not indicate what he plans to do when asked today.

RAUNER: We need to have common sense bipartisan reform.

A few House Republicans did vote with Democrats to pass the gun dealer licensing measure.

Rauner could take action on the bill AFTER March 20th Republican primary against State Representative Jeanne Ives.
