Bare Arms for Bears Player Despite Cold Weather

The National Weather Service says it is going to be “bitterly cold” this Sunday when the Chicago Bears take on the Green Bay Packers at Soldier Field.  They’re forecasting temperatures as low as three below zero, with windchills dipping down to 30 below.  But Bears linebacker Pernell McPhee says he’s still not going to wear sleeves during the game.

“It’s like, we trained soldiers. You think if a soldier out at a battlefield and it’s cold and it’s snowing, you think they got time to think about if they’re cold or think about who their enemy is and when to strike?”Head Coach John Fox isn’t sure that’s a good plan.“I’ve told them I think that macho stuff is all great, but there comes a time where people might start to question your intelligence.”

Chicago’s public health commissioner says it will be dangerously cold Sunday. She says McPhee should be OK as long he is wearing a coat or blanket on the sidelines.
