Chicago police say they've arrested a man in the death of a 2-year-old northern Illinois boy whose dismembered remains were found in a park lagoon last year. Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi says Kamel Harris, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Kyrian Knox.
Harris was once a caretaker for the boy. Harris was being held in a jail in Winnebago County on an unrelated charge when detectives arrested him and took him into their custody.
Guglielmi did not say what led police to arrest Harris in the death of the Rockford boy, whose remains were found in September 2015 in the Garfield Park lagoon on the city's West side.
