CHICAGO - The caretaker of the late Chicago Cubs great Ernie Banks has permission to sell some of his belongings in an auction.
Cook County Circuit Judge James Riley stipulated Banks' estranged wife, Elizabeth, first be given a list of the inventory and the sales plan, when he gave Regina Rice permission to sell the items. It was unclear which assets Rice planned to sell in August.
Last year, she filed an inventory of Banks' personal property with the court that consisted mostly of items from Banks' rented condo as well as storage containers in Chicago and California.
Rice and Banks' fourth wife are in a dispute over how to divide the estate of the man known as Mr. Cub.
The 83-year-old Banks died of a heart attack in January 2015.
