CHICAGO (AP) - Chicago police say two teenagers were killed and a third wounded as they stood on a South Side street corner.
Police spokeswoman Officer Michelle Tannehill says the teens were killed by shots fired Tuesday from a passing SUV.

Authorities say a 16-year-old boy was shot in the head and a 17-year-old girl was shot in the chest. Both were pronounced dead at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. A 16-year-old boy was shot in the hand and hospitalized in good condition. No suspects have been arrested.

The shooting occurred on a day when President Barack Obama lamented the 2012 massacre of twenty people at Sandy Hook Elementary School and gun violence in his home town. Obama's comments came as he promoted his executive action tightening the sale of firearms.
