An Illinois agency says it's still trying to determine what assistance might be available to victims of a deadly tornado that struck northern Illinois earlier this month.
The April 9 storm killed two people in Fairdale, a small community of about 150 people. The Illinois Emergency Management Agency says it's still collecting information about damage.
An agency spokeswoman says it's too early to say what aid the state could give to residents and local governments. But local leaders in the area say they don't expect federal help.
DeKalb County Board chairman Mark PietrowskiJr. says he expects the state to contribute to recovery in agency assistance, but not actual funds.
Local officials plan to put together a task force for disaster recovery that would include business and community leaders.
