Police say a man suspected in several recent robberies has struck in Peoria County.

Sheriff Brian Asbell says 54-year-old John Beck is the suspect in this morning's robbery at Elmwood Community Bank, 101 E. Evergreen. He was armed with a pipe, and reportedly fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Asbell says it's believed Beck is driving a stolen white Prius with the registration 436976. He's also wanted in connection with an April 9 bank robbery at Odell Bank in Livingston County. He's currently on parole from a 2008 sentence connected to a Champaign County bank robbery.

Asbell says Beck is considered extremely dangerous. He's 5'9" and about 160 pounds. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call police dispatch at (309) 672-6011 or Lt. Corpus at 309-258-7160.
