A new Caterpillar video may pay tribute to "American Ninja Warrior," but it also highlights the high demand for more Caterpillar service technicians at dealerships.
Caterpillar representative Griffin Reome says there are currently 1,600 open service tech positions, including 55 at the local Altorfer dealership. And there's an estimated need for thousands more this decade.
"The job is high tech, it's high demand, and it's high potential," Reome said. "And hopefully this video starts to get people to start to understand what opportunity there is in this career, and the potential it leads to. Either becoming a technician, and dedicating your education and career to that, or use it as a first step to go onto other job opportunities."
Reome said the skills gained on the service technician career path are versatile.
"As long as you come in with the desire to learn, really, the sky's the limit from there," he said.
