A Galesburg man faces murder charges after an arson fire killed one person and left another seriously injured.

On Sunday, the Galesburg Fire and Police Departments responded to a house fire at 261 Pine St. A 50-year-old man was found outside the house. He was transported to the hospital with burn injuries, and later transferred to a burn unit.

Katrina Hainline, 60, was found dead inside the house after the fire was brought under control.

Police said the fire was intentionally set. Donald Denniston, 38, faces a first-degree murder charge and aggravated arson charges.

He's set to appear later today in Knox County court.
