The Peoria Police Department has arrested a suspect in connection with the murder of Jeffrey Blevins.

Michael Dyer, 58, was arrested on charges of first-degree murder on Tuesday in Decatur, where he was being held in the Macon County Jail on unrelated charges.

Blevins was found dead in a vehicle in the 8300 block of North Knoxville last Friday. Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood said he was shot once in his upper body, likely dying instantly.

Dyer was transferred to the Peoria County Jail.
