A Galesburg woman faces first-degree murder charges after allegedly killing her 7-year-old daughter with a knife.
Police said the girl was found dead in the 1500 block of McKnight St. on Sunday. She died from apparent knife wounds, police said.
The girl's mother, Hazel L. Ivy, 29, was arrested Sunday and charged with her murder.
The Galesburg Police Department, Knox County Sheriff's Office, Knox County State's Attorney, and Illinois State Police are investigating.
