A 29-year-old Peoria man faces first-degree murder charges in connection with a fatal weekend shooting.

Roosevelt Hunter III, 26, was pronounced dead Sunday night after he was shot several times near the Landmark Apartments.

Police said Ontario Alexander was spotted placing two handguns into the suspect vehicle in the 2200 block of W. Millman on Tuesday.

He was taken in for an interview, and subsequently arrested on murder charges in connection with Hunter's death, as well as unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon, and unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

Alexander was taken to the Peoria County Jail for holding.

This is Peoria's 12th reported homicide this year.
