A man is dead after a shooting late Monday night on Peoria's South Side.
Police responded to the 300 block of N. Saratoga around 11:30 p.m. on a shooting report. A man was found in a backyard with an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood identified the victim as 43-year-old Andre Leathers, Sr. of Peoria.
The investigation is ongoing.
This is Peoria's sixth reported homicide of 2020.
