Peoria Fire Chief Ed Olehy is retiring.
Olehy's last day on the job will be November 29. Assistant Fire Chief Tony Ardis will become fire chief after Olehy's retirement. He's the brother of Peoria Mayor Jim Ardis. He starts November 30.
Olehy became fire chief in February 2018 after Chuck Lauss stepped down. Olehy started with the Peoria Fire Department in 1989, gradually working his way up the ranks.
