A Peoria woman stabbed in the neck during a Thursday afternoon fight is dead. Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood says 19-year-old Charee A. Alexander died at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center at 2:05 p.m. Friday.
Police were originally called to the 3400 block of North Western Avenue for a large fight at Schmoeger Park about 4:30 Thursday afternoon.
Responding officers stopped a vehicle fleeing the area and found Alexander bleeding profusely. Her autopsy is pending.
Peoria police report a juvenile male also sustained injuries. The group that was fighting was large enough it spilled into the street and neighboring residential yards.
Police are asking anyone with information about the series of events to contact the department or CrimeStoppers.
