What's Your #9PMRoutine?

The Peoria County Sheriff’s Office wants to be part of your daily 9:00 p.m. routine. It’s launched a social media campaign called the #9PMRoutine.

The goal is to encourage residents to lock their cars and homes before heading to bed. Every night at 9 o’clock, the sheriff’s office will post a reminder on Facebook and Twitter.

Sheriff Brian Asbell says there are simple ways to keep you and your property safe from crimes of opportunity. Lock car doors. Lock house doors and windows. Check on family and pets. Close garage doors and curtains, and turn on security lights.

Sheriff Asbell hopes the social media campaign will encourage a nightly safety routine.

A Florida sheriff’s office launched the #9PMRoutine campaign in 2016 following a rash of car burglaries.
