Peoria Police said Friday morning they have captured a man wanted on attempted murder and aggravated battery charges.

Authorities in Peoria and Tazewell counties had announced late Thursday they were searching for a suspect who they say should be considered armed and dangerous.

According to a news release from the Peoria Police Department, Christopher R. Richerson, 52, was found in the garage of a residence in the 1800 block of Kickapoo Creek Road. Police said Richerson was arrested on attempted murder charges and was released to Tazewell County investigators.

Earlier Thursday, Police said they found Richerson’s vehicle unoccupied in the 4400 block of North Carola Street in northwest Peoria.
