Services to Honor Two Central Illinois Fallen Servicemen

Services for two fallen servicemen are scheduled for Friday evening and Saturday. Both were recently killed in the line of duty.

41-year-old Deputy US Marshal Chase White was killed November 29th in Tucson, Arizona. White was shot and killed by a suspect while delivering a felony arrest warrant.

The Manual High School football player and U of I Alum held a Master’s Degree, served in the U.S. Air Force, and was a Lieutenant Colonel in the Air Force Reserves. He leaves behind wife Sue Ellen and four children. His parents are the Rev. Lynnda White and Michael and Melody Jenkins.

Chase White’s visitation is Friday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Universalist Unitarian Church. His memorial service is Saturday at 1:00 p.m. also at the church.

U.S. Marine Corporal Daniel Baker was one of five crewmen delcared dead following an aerial refueling mishap over the Sea of Japan on December 6. He was a 2015 Tremont High School graduate.

Baker is survived by his parents Duane and Elizabeth Baker and his sister.

Baker’s visitation is from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Northfield Christian Fellowship in Tremont. His memorial service follows Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the church. Baker’s Memorial Service will also be live streamed via this link for those who cannot attend.
