Damages Exceed $1 Million in Two Peoria County Fires

Two fires Monday in Peoria County are responsible for more than a million dollars in damages. A fire was discovered at Walls Industrial Services in Glasford early Monday morning. It reportedly took multiple rural fire departments about 30 minutes to extinguish the blaze. The cause of that fire is still undetermined as is the extent of the loss and no one was injured.

Monday afternoon an oven fire at Sam’s Club in Peoria is responsible for about one-million-dollars in damage mostly to product. The Peoria Fire Department says that was determined to be an accidental fire that started in the bakery in a rotisserie oven. The store remains closed and has been turned over to the Peoria City/County Health Department.
