Peoria residents who could use some extra light on a nearby alley can apply for a free bulb and installation, through a city initiative.
The Alley Light Program provides 80 lights to residents who apply. It’s a service of the Community Development Department, which aims to make city neighborhoods safer, more pleasant places for residents.
City spokesperson Stacy Peterson says the department installed 73 lights last year.
