Pekin Adds Features Downtown for Visitors to Sit, Stay A While

The City of Pekin is adding more outdoor furnishings to its downtown streetscape.

The city this week installed 12 benches, 11 bike racks and four picnic tables. City Manager Tony Carson says in a news release that it’s part of an effort to make downtown Pekin more livable.

The project was approved by City Council on May 8 and was financed through the Central Business District TIF.
