Peoria’s about to get a bouncy new option for recreation and fitness.
Elevate Trampoline Park LLC announced Mon. it’s opening a location at 8800 Allen Rd., in North Peoria.
The Mesa, Arizona-based franchise says it plans to open the 35,100 square foot Elevate Peoria this spring.
Elevate is marketing the new location as the largest trampoline park in the country. That claim is false, by a few hundred square feet. The largest trampoline park is located in New Orleans, at 44,000. But it's an indication that the industry is competing for attention, as trampoline parks are popping up in cities across the country to meet the growing demand for variety in fitness activities.
Elevate says in addition to the expanse of bounc-eable terrain, the Peoria location will also include foam pits, rock climbing and adult fitness classes.
A company news release says Elevate Peoria will hire more than 50 employees.
