Peoria Convenes 2nd Black Life Meeting

Picserver.org

A second meeting on African American quality of life in Peoria is scheduled for January 31st.

The first meeting last month drew more than 300 people. They participated in small-group brainstorming sessions on ways to improve economic opportunities for black people in the city. Those compiled findings will be presented at the second meeting.

The series of meetings comes in response to a 24/7 Wall Street report last fall that ranked Peoria worst in the nation for African-American life. The ranking was based on several key economic factors that have direct quality of life measurements.

The January 31st meeting is at 6:00 in Exhibit Hall B at the Peoria Civic Center. Parking is free in the Fulton Street lot. Those planning to attend are asked to register for seating.
