Rik Edgar is stepping down as general manager of the Peoria Civic Center to pursue another job opportunity, the entertainment venue’s management company announced Friday.
“This has been the most rewarding eight years of my career and I am profoundly grateful for the time I was able to serve the Peoria community,” Edgar said in a media release. “A life-changing offer presented itself and I could not pass on the opportunity.
“I love the team we have assembled at the PCC and I will miss seeing them every day.”
The Civic Center topped $8 million in adjusted gross income for the first time in 2025, although a reversal is expected this year as Carver Arena closes over the summer for the installation of a new ice plant.
Assistant GM Beau Sutherland will serve as interim GM until Legends Global hires a full-time replacement for the downtown facility.
“We are sad to see Rik go,” said Rick Semonis, chairman of the Peoria Civic Center Authority chairman. “He’s been a great leader to his team and a great asset to our community.
“At the same time, we are happy for him and his new opportunity. The board celebrates our collective accomplishments and is proud to build upon the success Rik has helped us achieve.”
Legends Global and the Civic Center Authority hope to have a permanent GM in place by the end of August.
