The Peoria County Sheriff is asking parents to talk with their teens about attending year-end parties that included alcohol.

Three young adults were shot at a party on Murphy Road in rural Hanna City Monday night. The injuries were not considered life-threatening.

The gathering of up to 50 included mostly 17 to 23 year-olds from high schools throughout the tri-county region. Sheriff McCoy says evidence at the scene indicates the party involved drugs and alcohol.

26-year old Ryan Miller and 20-year old Steve Covington were arrested for the shootings and face related charges. The sheriff says the investigation continues and more information will be released.

But for now, he’s asking all parents to talk with their children who might be attending year end parties where there is a possibility of drugs and alcohol.
