A police standoff in Peoria lasted more than four hours Monday. Police arrested a man on domestic battery charges in the 1300 block of N. Sheridan. Police removed both a dog and the suspect after he told officers he would harm himself and officers. Peoria Police Spokeswoman Officer Amy Dotson says the event happened without injuries:
“The arrest went down without incident. And the dog that was said to be inside was removed peacefully, and taken by PAWS.”
Dotson says the suspect was also wanted on at least one traffic warrant. She says the Peoria Police Department and Peoria County Sheriff’s Office used search-robots during the incident, as well as a tactical operations vehicle.
