Caterpillar is celebrating its 85th anniversary of being listed on the New York Stock Exchange.
The company’s CEO, Doug Oberhelman, rang the opening bell Monday. Cat is also displaying some of it machines in front of the Exchange building as part of the celebration.
The company listed on December 2nd, 1929 as Caterpillar Tractor Company. It’s among 2% of 3200 companies that have been on the NYSE for 85-years or more.
In a statement, Oberhelman says Cat is also preparing to celebrate 90 years as a company next year.
