Peoria police have a busy weekend

Police have arrested a man after a nearly seven-hour standoff at a house in Peoria ended without injuries. Police say the standoff ended Sunday evening after the man claimed to be armed and barricaded himself in the house earlier in the day. Police said they were in communication with him over the phone throughout the afternoon.
Capt. Mike Scally says officers responded to a report of a domestic dispute between a man and woman. Police say the woman fled the scene when officers arrived and the man went inside.
Special response team members later arrived at the scene, dressed in body armor and helmets. Scally says about 30 officers responded.
Police haven't identified the man. It's unclear if he's been charged.

Peoria police are also investigating a home invasion involving men wearing fake police clothing. The incident occurred at a home in the Wardcliffe Neighborhood.

Three black males approached the house at about 9:30 Saturday night wearing clothing with police labels on them. The victim let the men into his home, and a struggle and robbery ensued. Police do not believe the invasion was random.

Anyone with information should call the Peoria police department at 673-4524 or 494-8304.
