Caterpillar celebrates the production of its Seventy-five-thousandth wheel tractor-scraper built at its Decatur facility.
The twin-engine machine is one of three products that helped build the Caterpillar business after World War II. The machine was built to move high volumes of material quickly, and played a role in global infrastructure projects for the last 70 years.
Cat officials say sales of the scraper have rebounded in North America since the last economic downturn as construction projects increase.
