The candidates for Illinois Governor are getting out their message in Peoria with a little aid. It's a common practice when campaigns go on the offensive, and also works well for defense.
Democratic Lieutenant Governor candidate Paul Vallas says Republican challenger Bruce Rauner is buying a lot of campaign commercials in the governor’s race. Vallas says those ads feature double talk, aimed at covering up what the Wall Street Journal has coined Vulture Capitalism.
VALLAS: “Rauner's approach to business is about profit making. It’s about profit making, and jobs taking. We’ve seen it time and time again. In fact Rauner has really perfected the art of outsourcing businesses.”
Vallas made the repeated call for Rauner to release his tax returns in their entirety, beyond the synopsis reports the campaign has made available.
Republican State Senator Darin LaHood responded for Rauner to the remarks Vallas made in Peoria:
Darin LAHOOD: "I think what you see here by the Quinn administration is more bad mouthing outsourcing, bad mouthing low labor rates, or whatever they want to use to say, but other state are benefiting because of this.”
LaHood says having someone like Rauner who knows how to create jobs, coming from the private sector will be good for the state.
