A major artery between Allen Road and University Street is getting a makeover.
Construction on Townline Road from Industrial Road to University is undergoing re-construction starting next Monday, July 7th.
The project includes new concrete pavement, curbs and gutters and storm drain inlets. The project also includes the installation of a new asphalt bike trail on the north side of the roadway as well as a new sidewalk on the south. All existing driveway approaches will also be removed and replaced.
A single through-lane will be available for those needing to travel in that area during the project. Construction is expected to be completed at the end of October.
The city of Peoria is holding a public meeting on the pending construction Wednesday afternoon at 2 at Peoria Production Shop on Townline Road.
