Residents eighteen and older can enroll in the Peoria Police Department’s Citizen Police Academy this summer. The academy runs June through July and helps residents understand both how the department works and allows police officers to interact with the public.
Topics this year include the Don’t Shoot program and tours of the Emergency Communications Center and resident officer neighborhood. Applications and course schedules are available on the police department’s website. Space is limited to twenty people and registration is open through May 30th
