East Peoria, Pekin and Washington continue post-tornado debris removal and volunteers are still needed.
Clare Holdinghaus is part of the emergency response team for AmeriCorp St Louis. She's helping with the operation of the Tazewell County Volunteer Reception Center. Holdinghaus says volunteers, 18-years and older, are still needed throughout Tazewell County:
Holdinghaus: “Our donations opportunities are all-weather opportunities. Anyone who has physical limitations is also very welcome in donation centers. We also have a lot of actual clerical work that needs doing. So please don’t feel that if you can’t get out in the field you can’t help. There are opportunities for everyone.”

Washington Information:
Washington City officials say they will eventually get all debris at the curb picked up. But they are also asking residents to make use of their insurance companies and volunteer groups for assistance with debris removal. Mayor Gary Manier says removing the debris as quickly as possible will ensure they can remove the structures that remain on the hardest hit properties, so rebuilding can begin.
Building permits and OSHA information for Washington residents impacted by the tornado are available daily from 9:00a.m. to 3:00p.m. at the Five Points Library.
The monthly public siren test that would normally take place Tuesday, December 3rd will not happen in Washington. But the city manager says the city has tested the sirens and they are working.
