Peoria Police investigate shooting of 17-year-old student

A Peoria High School student was shot after school dismissed Tuesday. Peoria Police Captain Mike Scally says the  17-year old black male was shot once near the intersection of Peoria and Nebraska. The victim fell in front of 1836 Peoria. Scally says the juvenile was conscious when police and rescue arrived, and his injury is not life threatening.

He says they have the suspect in custody. 18-year old Quantrey King is suspected of being the passenger and the shooter in the car that passed by and shot the juvenile.  Scally says it's still unclear as to whether they will be going after the driver of the vehicle.
