A possible ballpark bailout

The City of Peoria is considering its options when it comes to a financial bailout for the Peoria Chiefs Stadium. The council is holding a special meeting next week to discuss options when it comes to public and private funding for the ballpark. Peoria Mayor Jim Ardis says the meeting is to figure out how to make the Peoria Chiefs financially viable long term:

Ardis: “I can’t say exactly what’s needed just because the numbers are fluid. They owe some banks money, they owe us money but depending on what type of agreement can be potentially reached, those numbers are fluid right now.”

The special meeting for next week is necessary Ardis says because banks involved are looking to close on the financial situation by the end of the month.

The meeting is at seven o’clock April 30th at Peoria City Hall. City officials are also expected to deliver more details later this week.
