Peoria Police Make Arrest in 9-Year-Old Cold Case Murder

PEORIA -- The Peoria Police Department announced an arrest made in a cold case murder from almost a decade ago.

The evening of December 26, 2010, Peoria Police found 20-year-old Michael Malone unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds in an alley of the 1800 block of West Howett. 

During the investigation, Breon N. Augusta was identified as a suspect. Early this morning, Augusta showed up at the department to turn himself in, and was arrested on a warrant for murder.

Follwing the arrest, Augusta was transported to the Peoria County jail.
