Bradley University is launching two new majors aimed at preparing students for the technology careers of tomorrow.
The university announced Tuesday that the Artificial Intelligence and Data Science major programs within the Department of Computer Science and Information Systems are currently accepting students.
Bradley says the programs highlight a commitment to meeting emerging workforce needs and interests.
“Technology is transforming nearly every industry, creating new opportunities for professionals who understand how to use data, artificial intelligence and computing to solve complex problems,” associate professor and curriculum committee chair Nawaz Ali said in a media release.
“These programs will give students the technical foundation, hands-on experience and critical thinking skills they need to become leaders in a rapidly changing world.”
The AI program aims to prepare students for developing and applying the technology across such fields as healthcare, cybersecurity and business analysis. The Data Science program seeks to give students the skills to transform complex information into organizational insights.
“Data has become one of the most valuable resources for organizations in every sector, but the ability to understand and apply that data is what creates impact,” said department lecturer David Brennan.
The Data Science major also connects with Bradley’s masters program in Data Science and Analytics, creating an educational pathway toward potential careers in high-demand fields.
