A 12-year-old boy suffered serious injuries after a shooting inside a Peoria residence Wednesday night, according to the Peoria Police Department.

Officers were called to the 1800 block of North Lehman Road shortly after 6 p.m. When they arrived, they found the boy inside the home with an apparent gunshot wound to his stomach.

First responders began life-saving measures until medical personnel arrived and took him to a local hospital. His current condition was not reported.

The incident remains under investigation and there is no suspect information at this time.

Anyone with information potentially related to the shooting is asked to contact the police department.
