The driver of a motorcycle is dead after a three vehicle crash Wednesday morning in Dunlap.
According to the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a three-vehicle crash in the 1100 block of West Cedar Hills Drive at 11 a.m. Officers found two vehicles and a motorcycle involved.
Sheriff Chris Watkins said the drivers of the vehicles were not injured, but the motorcyclist, a 22-year old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The sheriff’s office said the deceased man was the only rider on the motorcycle. His identity will be released by Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood after family is notified and further investigation into the crash is completed.
Watkins said the preliminary investigation found the motorcycle was traveling west on Cedar Hills Drive when it struck a vehicle traveling the same direction from behind. The driver of the motorcycle was thrown into the eastbound lane and struck by a second vehicle heading in the opposite direction.
Advanced Medical Transport and Dunlap Fire also responded to the scene.
