A Peoria man involved in a car crash in Bartonville last week has died.

Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood says 47-year-old Vicente Arias-Cruz of Peoria was pronounced deceased at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center on Monday.

Last Tuesday, Bartonville Police responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of South Adams Street and South Washington Street. Officers found Arias-Cruz face down in the roadway, ejected from his vehicle. Arias-Cruz was taken to OSF with life-threatening injuries.

Harwood says Arias-Cruz suffered multiple blunt-force trauma injuries as a result of being ejected from the vehicle. A toxicology report is pending, as required by Illinois law.

Bartonville Police have not provided an update on an investigation into the incident since the day of the crash.
