One person is dead after a fire on Peoria's South Side Wednesday night.
Firefighters responded to the house fire in the 1800 block of West Garden just before 9:30 p.m.
A victim was found inside the house. Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood identified the man as 81-year-old Raul M. Rosas, who lived at the same address.
Harwood said Rosas was pronounced dead shortly after 11 p.m. An autopsy is scheduled for Friday.
It took about 40 minutes to extinguish the fire. The cause is still under investigation.
