Out and About in Greater Peoria: Grammy winning artist plays the Civic Center, Pumpkin Chuckin' 2.0 and 'Menopause The Musical'

Here are 3 things to do for the weekend of Nov. 3 through Nov. 5, 2023, curated by WCBU's Meagan Ruger-Smith. You can find more coverage on our Out & About - Arts & Music page or by subscribing to WCBU's Weekend Fanfare email newsletter, which goes out every Friday.

Grammy winner Dwight Yoakam at the Civic Center: Dwight Yoakam headlines the Peoria Civic Center tonight from 8 to 11 p.m. Yoakam has sold more than 25 million albums worldwide, and he is a 21-time nominated, multiple Grammy Award winner. He has 12 gold albums and nine platinum or multi-platinum albums, with five of those albums topping Billboard’s Country Albums chart and another 14 landing in the Top 10. Tickets start at $45.

How far can you chuck a mini pumpkin?: Find out tomorrow at Pumpkin Chuckin 2.0. Join the Peoria PlayHouse in the Makerspace at the Noble Center for an afternoon of fun as you create mini pumpkin launch devices using recycled materials, imagination and problem-solving skills! Advanced registration is required.

Menopause The Musical: Sunday at the Civic Center is 'Menopause The Musical'. Four women at a lingerie sale have nothing in common but a black lace bra AND memory loss, hot flashes, night sweats, not enough sex, too much sex and more! This hilarious musical parody set to classic tunes from the ‘60s, ‘70s and ‘80s will have you cheering and dancing in the aisles!
