Peoria police say three men were wounded in two separate shooting incidents Saturday, with one victim hospitalized in critical condition.

The first incident happened around 6 p.m. in the 2400 block of North Gale Avenue, according to a police department media release.

Officers responded to a report of shots fired and were informed a victim was being taken to a hospital in a private vehicle. The 26-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries. Detectives found evidence of the shooting in the Parkview Estates parking lot.

Less than 2½ hours later, police responded to the 2600 block of North Peoria Avenue for a six-round ShotSpotter alert. They learned two occupants were struck when someone fired into a vehicle one block to the north. Shell casings were recovered from the scene.

One victim was on the way to a hospital in a private vehicle, and police found a second victim who had suffered a graze wound. Both men are in stable condition.

Both investigations are ongoing. Anyone with information regarding either incident, or any violent crimes, is asked to contact the Peoria Police Department by using the anonymous Tip-411 hotline, or calling CrimeStoppers anonymously at 309-673-9000.
