A possible merger between UnityPoint Health and New Mexico-based Presbyterian Healthcare Services won't impact a deal to bring UnityPoint's central Illinois hospitals under the Carle Health umbrella.
That's according to a spokesperson for UnityPoint Health-Central Illinois. She says the two deals are separate transactions.
The agreement for Carle Health to replace UnityPoint at Methodist, Proctor, and Pekin hospitals and their affiliated clinics is expected to close later this year.
Carle Health is based in Urbana.
