Peoria police investigating shooting, stabbing incidents

The Peoria Police Department is investigating separate incidents that left two men with apparent life-threatening injuries.

Officers responded to the 3400 block of W. Oakcrest Drive shortly before 7 p.m. Saturday night for a report of multiple shots fired. Upon arrival, they found a vehicle in the middle of the road with a man inside who had suffered an apparent gunshot wound to the head.

The man was taken to a local hospital. His identity and condition has not been released. The incident is under investigation and no suspect information is available.

Shortly before 3:30 a.m. Sunday, police were called to a hospital after a man had been dropped off by a private vehicle with a serious stab wound to his neck.

Witnesses told police the man had been stabbed while trying to break up a fight outside a local business in the 400 block of MacArthur Highway. No suspect information is available and the incident remains under investigation.
