A 16-year-old boy was arrested Wednesday in the murder of Christopher Tillman.

Tillman, 46, was shot and killed near the Taft Homes on Sept. 20.

Police said the teen was arrested in the 1000 block of Main Street after a foot chase. Before he was caught, police said he dumped a loaded gun during the pursuit.

The teenager was arrested for murder, resisting arrest, and several gun-related charges.

He was taken to the Peoria County Juvenile Detention Center.
