A 40-year-old man is dead after the motorcycle he was riding was struck by another vehicle Wednesday night in Peoria County.

According to the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office, the man was headed west in the 10000 block of Lancaster Road around 8:30 p.m., when an eastbound sedan struck him as the driver attempted to turn left into a parking lot.

The motorcycle driver was airlifted to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, but died of his injuries. The coroner’s office has not yet released the victim’s name, or an official cause of death.
