Peoria police make arrest in July 4 homicide

Peoria police have arrested a suspect in a July 4th homicide.

Police arrested 22-year-old Raekwon Pickett for first degree murder Monday in connection with the death of 19-year-old Quinton Scott, Jr.

Scott was fatally shot in the 600 block of Northeast Madison on the 4th of July. A juvenile victim was also shot in the leg during the shooting.

Pickett was taken to the Peoria County Jail.
